For my independent project I will be live streaming a church service at my church FUMC of Birmingham. It will be streamed through YouTube, so people can watch from there phone, tablet, computer and TV. People can donate money via
StreamTip, and there name will pop up on the projector at the front of the room. I firmly believe this will help my church because, Sunday is a day for rest you should be able to watch church from your couch in your pajamas, instead of waking early and getting dressed formally.
This independent project is truthfully inspiring. I now regret not spending the time we're given to do something productive and beneficial to my community. I am Muslim and never attended a church service but I have always been curious as to what it's like so I will be sure to check out the streaming. Did you publicize to your church about your project? Are the authorities of the church okay with it?
ReplyDeleteThe encouragement you are providing for everyone to donate is also a good idea. Whether they watch the service at home or not, you provided an easy link to donate and when their name gets projected onto the screen, they will sense accomplishment and will be credited for their efforts.
I have contacted my pastor about the idea, and he has expressed interest and currently I am trying to setup a meeting. If the people running the church are okay with it, they are more than willing to try new things to get people to watch their services.
